In addition to my academic experiences, throughout my college career, I have had many opportunities to expand and grow my experience in interacting with and teaching children. These experiences have shaped and help grow my childcare skills and will help me in the future as a teacher. 

Lead Teacher

Snowmass, Colorado
December 2023-present

  • Oversaw all aspects of the daily operations at the Children’s Center in conjunction with the Coordinator .

  • Lead group activities for children including indoor and outdoor play, crafts, games, nap time, skiing and other recreational activities.

  • Created and fostered a productive and healthy team environment and monitored the performance of staff offering timely feedback and coaching.

  • Assisted Coordinator with staff training, scheduling, and performance reviews. Ensured appropriate practices and curriculum are being used and implemented according to best practice and department guidelines. Responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all children at all times

  • Experience with children ranging in age from 16 months to 6 years of age.

  • Created a safe environment for children, that promotes play, fun and learning.

  • Assisted lead teacher with planning and implementing individual and group age-appropriate activities, such as art, storytime, games, and outside play to engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.

  • Attended to the personal needs of children (feeding, sleeping, diapering) as needed.

  • Communicated effectively with parents/guardians and provide timely feedback.

Catholic Youth Charities Summer Camp Counselor
Occidental, California
June 2019-August 2019

  • Create a safe, positive and playful environment for 8-10 children in their cabin group.

  • Supervise campers and participate with their cabin group in all camp activities, as well as

  • Implement creative ideas for various activities, cabin games and soul foods, support at meals, all camp events, campfires, etc.

  •  Responsible for assisting in resolving discipline issues within their cabin group and responsible for the safety and wellness of all CYO Summer campers.
